Energy Savings

BIOIZER^® offers significantly increased energy efficiency over conventional incandescent light bulbs as well as fluorescent lights.  A single BIOIZER lamp last up to 16 times longer than a standard incandescent bulb, uses only 25 watts to provide an equivalent of 100 watts of traditional incandescent light, and produces less heat.

The BIOIZER electronic ballast is up to 45% more energy efficient than standard magnetic ballasts and operates 15 to 30% cooler than conventional electronic ballasts with high reliability factors exceeding 99.9%.

The energy efficiency of BIOIZER products allows users to recapture the bulb/lamp purchase cost in electricity savings. For example, since BioLighting technology achieves the same light output as 100 watt incandescent lamps while using less than 15 watts, users realize a savings of 85 watts of electricity, or 85%.  Assuming 2,860 hours of operation per year and average commercial electricity rates of 0.12 cents/kWh, a BIOIZER lamp would reduce end user’s electricity bill by $29.17 per lamp annually compared to fluorescent lighting.   

Ancillary cost savings result from the unit’s lower heat output and weight demands on existing lighting fixtures.  Lower heat output reduces building air-conditioning loads and costs.  Lower weight demand provides long-term savings to the building industry by allowing the replacement of metal lighting fixtures with lower cost and lighter plastic frames.  Bioizer technology also has an edge over existing ballast technology through the reduction of flickering, lower harmonic distortion and improved high power correction.
